gfandme’s gluten free beef dip sandwich

I love beef dips and this is one of the best I’ve ever had – glutenous or non-glutenous. Based on our slow cooker roast beef recipe, the meat and the jus are slow roasted in a crock pot. The meat is fantastic on its own, nicely browned with lots of flavour, and the dip is salty and savory with just a hint of peppery hotness. The sandwich takes some effort, but it’s certainly worth it!gluten free beef dip sandwich

For the bread, we use:

or an Udi’s baguette

The crust on the baguette is a bit hard for dipping and eating, so we pour the jus over top of the sandwich and eat it with a knife and fork. Continue reading

gluten free turkey and havarti panini

Panini is the perfect way to eat gluten free bread and this is one of our favorites. The havarti is mild enough to let the taste of the turkey shine through and adds just the right amount of salt and creaminess. Serve it with a side of cranberries and you’re in heaven! gluten free turkey and havarti paniniThis is great with any turkey but is especially good with leftovers from our marinated grilled turkey breast.

gluten free and dairy free sandwich bread – it’s awesome!

gluten free sandwich bread

We love our crusty breads but we have been searching for a really great recipe for gf sandwich bread. Then Geoff’s massage therapist – the BEST massage therapist – told him about this recipe she’d found on the Gluten Free Real Food website. IT IS FANTASTIC! The crust is crusty but not hard and the crumb is soft and malleable with lots of good air pockets. It produces a good size loaf (bigger than our old bakery wheat bread), slices thin or thick, freezes well and can be lightly thawed in the microwave. Oh, and it tastes great too – sweet, salty, and a bit nutty. As for shelf life, it’s still good on day two and just starts to lose its flavour and fluff on day three – not bad for a no preservative bread of any kind!
